Rupert sighed, heavily. "I suppose you want me to check it
out?"
"If you would, please." The unicorn shuffled his feet, and the Prince
felt briefly seasick. "You know how I feel about
spiders..."
The story:
Prince Rupert is second son, and could easily be a problem when his
older brother will become king. So he is sent out on a quest; to kill
a dragon and prove his worth.
But when he ends up rescuing the butterfly-collecting dragon from a sharp-tounged, sword-wielding young princess, his life changes dramatically. And when Death and Darkness threaten his father's kingdom, those unlikely heroes must find a way to beat back the Evil forces.
Thoughts about the book:
This is an entertaining story about not quite heroes. It has taken
the heroic tales and twisted them to an amusing story. And it manages
to stay entertaining all through the book.
Some of it is predictable; none of the traitors (and of course there has to be traitors) are surprising, but the characters are refreshing and a great step away from the heroes of most fantasy stories.
