Eclipse

She alone of the captives paid no heed to the Chaos rider in their midst, but was staring back at Gefen with a hunger and desperation that matched his. She made no sound, but Benetan thought he saw her lips move in some silent plea of prayer. Then, so quickly that he almost missed it, her right hand made a small movement and her thumb and middle finger formed a circle.

Warning!
This is the second book in a series, and reading this review without having read book one might spoil some of your fun.

The story:
Benetan Liss is sent on a mission to find and if possible, infiltrate, the group of heretics who worship the lords of Order. But Benetan Liss has other plans. For two of those heretics are his old childhood girlfriend Iselia and her husband Kaldar.

And though Benetan is still loyal to the Lords of Chaos, he is torn between his loyalty to his gods, and the love for the two women he cares about.

Thoughts about the book:
This is a story about loyalties and betrayal, about the conflicts of duty against consciousness. However, the most fascinating thing about this, is to compare this story to the story told in the Time Master Trilogy.

For in many ways, it is the same story, but the characters are different, and so are the stories.
