WARNING!
This is the third book in a series, and reading this review without
having read book one and two might spoil some of your fun.
The story:
It is not easy to be the children of heroes. Silverblade, the
daughter of Amberdrake and Winterhart wants to be a Silver Gryphon.
Her parents hope she will choose one of their own professions, but
Blade doesn't feel comfortable with that.
And her partner, Tadrith, one of Skandranon's sons, has much the same problem. Since he is the son of a hero, everything he ever does, is compared to the actions of his father.
So when they are assigned to Outpost Five, the most remote outpost they have, they are both happy. Happy to get away, and get some time on their own.
Only, something goes wrong, and suddenly they find themselves, hurt and alone, in the middle of the jungle, with little equipment and no way of contacting home. And someone, or something, is stalking them...
I like this one better than the previous one. It has more of a story to identify with, and both Amberdrake and Skanandron show certain sides of themselves which haven't been seen earlier.
